Inn at the Quay

Our booking deadline for 30 rooms including 3 Accessible rooms across the 3 nights from June 16 until 18 (check out on June 19) has now expired.

The Inn at the Quay is located a 10-20 minute walk or roll from the Anvil Centre.


Accessibility and barrier information:
*Please note this is a partial assessment written to assist you in determining what questions to ask.

A site visit was conducted by members of the Summit team who are not wheelchair users.

  • Entryway handle and peephole are lowered to standard wheelchair user height and there is braille on the outside of the door identifying the room number. 
  • The door to the room does not have an auto-door opener. 
  • The room is carpeted.
  • The bathroom access is near the front door and off the interior hallway.
  • The door opens out into the hallway.
  • The roll-in shower has grab bars and there is a shower chair (moveable not secured to the wall).
  • There is one grab bar next to the toilet that is attached to the sink, which has a cut out beneath it.
  • The light switches are lowered however some furniture in the room might need to be removed in order to provide sufficient space (the hotel is willing to do so).
  • The closet does not have clothes rack that can be reached by a wheelchair user.
  • There is a barrier leading out to the balcony and the drape pulls are not long enough to be accessed by a wheelchair user.
  • Smaller ironing board and lower holder for iron
  • One of the 3 rooms connects to an adjoining room should someone wish to travel with a companion

Of particular note to Americans attending the Summit, the province of British Columbia, Canada does not have anything like the ADA (Americans With Disabilities Act) in place. As a result, the standards for what might be deemed a wheelchair adapted hotel room might not meet ADA guidelines or your particular needs. We can’t verify the level of accessibility of these rooms, so please contact the hotel directly before you book the rooms.

 


Accent Inn Burnaby

Our booking deadline for 10 rooms including 2 Accessible rooms across the 3 nights from June 16 until 18 (check out on June 19) has now expired. 

Address:  3777 Henning Dr, Burnaby, BC V5C 6N5

Accent Inn Burnaby is located an hour ride by bike and a Bike Friendly hotel with bike tuning and washing stations, you can take your bikes in your room. Access using public transportation is difficult.


Accessibility and barrier information: 

  • Roll-in shower with separate vanity (designed so that a wheelchair can roll under)
  • Raised toilet
  • Lowered towel bars
  • Grab bars
  • Hand-held shower (tub chair available upon request)

SFU Guest Accommodation

Our booking deadline for 10 Private Residence rooms with shared washroom and shower across the 3 nights from June 16 until 18 (check out on June 19) has now expired. Please contact the accommodation provider directly if you wish to stay in the SFU Guest Accommodation.

  • SFU Private Residence rooms do not have accessible features on the rooms we currently secure.
